Former Bobcat Jasmine Robinson open up WNIT in her Home Town

Jasmine "Tootie" Robinson started playing with the Memphis Bobcats at the age of 13.  Robinson played on the 17U team.  She was an astonishing young athlete on the court with the much older players.  She would make 13 year old mistakes but once she realized the things that she had to correct, the next 3 years with the Bobcats she would become one of the South's most pursued player in the country.  Robinson had what the coaches called "Swagger" on the floor as a young player she didn't back down to any player as she played against some of the countries top players today.  Robinson is the Bobcats poster player, an Icon of the Memphis Lady Bobcats.
Robinson played high school basketball for Memphis Overton, where she would have successful season's there.  This year Tootie is an outstanding freshman at the University of Alabama.  Alabama will open up the Women's National Invitational Tournament against the Memphis Tigers at the Edna Roane  Building on the Memphis Campus.  So come on out and root for the Tigers and Tootie. Boy that's gonna be hard. tickets are $6.00 for adults and $4.00 for students.

Founder of Memphis Select Tigers joins forces with The G7 Movement...

Curtis Jones
Founder of Memphis Select Tigers joins the G7 Movement.  Curtis Jones has been amongst the ranks in basketball in Memphis.  As a recreational director at World Overcomers Outreach Ministries, Jones would establish relationships with some of the top coaches in the city amongst the AAU world in the mid-South.  Jones would meet and train some of the top kids in the city before they would even be discovered.  Jones discovered Laron Black of White Station high School before the city would know that he would be a middle school sensation and now is on his way to high school stardom. Jones would become a coach for the Memphis War Eagles AAU Boys Program and shortly afterwards, Jones would start his own girls program the Select Lady Tigers.  Now Jones is joining forces with the Lady Bobcats, which is now the #1 rising program in the Mid-South.  Jones will definitely be a pillar of the Bobcats G7 Movement in the Hoop Industry today in Memphis.

 Curtis Jones Bio:
The Memphis Select program was started as an alternative place for young ladies to play and still receive excellent training and coaching without all of the politics and high team fees that some of the other programs at the time was involved in. And over the past 8 years the Memphis Select program has help train and develop some of the best talent in the city (high & middle school). Now everything has come full circle and now I will be bringing my experience, love for the game & player development to the Blue Star National Travel Memphis Lady Bobcats to further build on the Memphis legacy.

The Lady Bobcats Platinum getting ready for 2011

This year the Lady Bobcats Platinum will feature a new group of young ladies that are no strangers to the Bobcats National Travel Program. Returning point guard Shunice Herron is really excited about her new teammates that she will take the court with this season. Last season Herron was a freshman playing on the Platinum team. Savannah Kimmons plans on returning after her second trip to the Mississippi State Finals. Kimmons would come up short this year in her hopes for a back to back effort. All the other Bobcats Platinum Team will graduate this year. Herron and Kimmons are the only returning teammates of the Platinum Team. Teammate Ashley Winston is undecided in her decision of returning to finish her last year with the Bobcats. It would be a smart decision to finish as she is an established element of the Bobcats National Travel Program. Meanwhile Coach Tony Wilson the new head coach of the Lady Bobcats Platinum plans on taking Platinum to new heights. The Lady Bobcats will debut this year at Boo Williams during the first viewing period. They will also attend some other top events this Summer. You don't wanna miss your chance in being part of the premier travel club in the mid-south. The final evals for 10th and 11th graders will be Sunday March 13th at 2:00pm.

Be a Memphis Lady Bobcat This Season and watch your college potiental grow.

Bobcats, O'Bannon is on her way back to the State Tournament.

Jalen O'Bannon and her Central Lady Warriors are headed back to Murfreesboro for the TSSAA State Tournament.  This time she has her eye on bringing back a gold ball.  O'Banon is a player that's gonna do exactly what she is told on the court and she is a go getter.  She is looking forward to bring the state title back on Bellevue.  Jalen plays on the Lady Bobcats Platinum team under the coaching of Tony Wilson.  Wilson has coached O'Banon since the 7th grade and she's still improving.

Briarcrest also have some Lady Bobcat on their squad and for Taylor Pugh, Samantha McColgan and Dakota Doss they are headed to the State Championship Game Saturday.  Pugh, a McDonald's All-American Nominee is a Senior this year and has experienced the post season hype pretty much every year of her high school career with Briarcrest.  Pugh will be a great prospect for any Mid-Major University in the country.  Taylor may be an undersized post palyer in high high school that can put in work around the basket.  This past Summer she have created a sweet mid-range game to enhance her IQ in the game.  We all hope the best for Taylor and the Lady Saints in the State Championship Game.

The Lady Bobcats are rising all over the Mid-South in State Tourney's...

  • Taylor Beverly of Northwest Rankin High School of Brandon, Mississippi tops former Bobcats Teammate in Mississippi State Semi-Finals game at the Jackson Coliseum Wednesday 61-51.  Now Beverly will have to face Bobcats Teammate from North Mississippi Savannah Kimmons another Lady Bobcats standout from this past Summer.
  • Ramanda Dace another Bobcats player is making the buzz in Mississippi.  By the numbers: Dace, a 5-7 senior guard, averaged 15.6 points, 4 rebounds and 2.3 steals to help JA reach the Overall finals. She had 21 points and 9 rebounds in the semis vs. unbeaten Leake.
  • Alisa Ross of Jackson Callaway will meet some of her other Summer teammates of Jackson Lanier in the 5A State title game.  Lanier have a host of Bobcats from the 601 Lady Bobcats team in Dominique Brothern, Kierra Jordan, and Courtney Epting.  Lanier has had an undefeated effort getting to the Game at the Colisuem March 5th. Despite Lanier has beaten Callaway 5 times this season, now they meet again for all the marbles.
Meanwhile back on the home front in Memphis Jalen O'Banon with Memphis Central defeated Overton on Wednesday Night  for the Regional Championship. O'Banon played on the Bobcats Red Team last Summer and she is ready to step up to the plate.  She has been up against the big time players as this past Summer they knocked down some big name giants on the National Nike Circuit.  O'Banon is looking forward in making it back to state tournament again this year.  O'Banon's 6'1 build, ball handling skills and crafty basketball IQ makes her a top prospect from the area.

Mississippi Bobcats Girls Perform Well This Season

Taylor Beverly of Northwest Rankin High School in Brandon, Mississippi has blossomed this season and helped her high school advance to the state tournament for the first time in schools history.  Beverly has averaged 19.2 ppg this season.  Beverly scored a season high 36 against Columbus High School in the Mississippi North Half Semi- Final Game.  Beverly with her 6'0 frame and athletic build will definetly make a fine college prospect in the recruiting process for the late signing period. Beverly is truly a late sleeper that will be a program enhancer with her jumping capability.  She can really jump with her 24" vertical. She don't mind getting down in the paint doing the dirty work, a real "Katy the cleaning Lady."  Beverly can also shoot the 3 with consistancy.  Beverly played with the Lady Bobcats this past Summer and had the time of a lifetime.  This was her first year to ever experience exposure basketball.  Most of the Mississippi athletes get missed just because of this.  Bobcats Director Roderick Echols makes it his point to get into Mississippi and find these athletes and put them on the National Circuit.  He is behind a host of kids getting recruited out of the Mississippi Area.  He will go from North to South and East to West in the state to find these awesome players.  Believe it or not if there is a diamond in the rough around he already know about them.   This is why he surrounds hisself some of the best coaches today in the Tri-State Area.   Some coaches have left to persue their on teams, but Echols has the relationship with a lot of college coaches in all conferences from the ACC to the BIG 12.

Kalisha Washington of Jackson Murrah is 5'1 bolt of lightning that will strike you with her defensive efforts.  Washington averages 18.6 ppg on the offensive side of the ball.  This young burst of energy will be another late signing treasure for Division 1 ranks.   Washington came back this season after being bench last season as she suffered an early season ACL injury.  She would come back in the nick of time for the Memphis Lady Bobcats to discover her talent in the early spring of 2010.  She would go on to play that Summer and would raise coaches eyebrows of what such a small package could carry.  Her recruiting is going to be a cinch because she is open to travel as most coaches from a far worry about kids that want to stay close to home.  After Traveling with the Lady Bobcats  players get the feel and see some college campuses that  the players just fall in love with, no matter how far it is.  The Lady Bobcats in the past 4 years have travelled from  Duke to UNLV.  The Bobcats have travelled to many states and will continue to expose  kids on the national  circuit this coming up season.  The Bobcats  program  is continuing to grow on the national circuit as the get coverage from many major scouting services  such as ESPN Hoopgurlz,  All-Star  Girls Report,  The Collegiate Girls Basketball Report, Full Court Press, The Roundball report and many other services and tournament directors.

Two Bobcats battle for State Tournament with their high schools

Arlington and Cordova is where Bobcats Camille Alberson and  Arianna Hayes play high school basketball at.  Alberson plays for Arlington and Hayes play for Cordova.  One would go on to the regional finals and state tournament and one would go home.  Hayes has had a breakout season this year.  She has played big in every game and has pretty much filled the shoes of last years Bobcats standout Shae Nelson, who played for Cordova and now is playing SEC Ball with Ole Miss.  Hayes is the Mid-South's quote on quote Sleeper this year.  Monday Night, Hayes would send her Summer teammate and McDonald's All-American Nominee Camille Alberson home and Cordova would advance to the Regional Champion.
