Pressure

Snowden is on the way to possibly another undefeated season. This year the gain a fiesty little 6th grader in Jireh Washington. Jireh Washington and Miyah Barnes handle the guard spots.  Snowden this year probably have the most craftiest forwards in Middle school by far the the Biggest in Kyla Green, Kayla Williams and Rodrea Echols.  Echols can also be deadly at the 1 or the 2.  Dejah Montgomery, who is out injured for the first half of the season is set to return after the holiday break will bring more rapid fire to the pressure oriented team.  Snowden is out for a 3 peat for the MIAA City Championship. Head Coach Rashad Haynes performed tremendously as the top middle school coach in the city.  The question is will he go to the next level and take a high school position soon.

Tuesday Night Briarcrest Senior and Memphis Lady Bobcats Platinum standout, Dakota Doss committed to the University of North Alabama.  Doss was very impressed on her visit to the University and it's just a couple of hours down the road from Memphis. She was very enthused about the Nursing Program as she intends on pursuing a Medical Career at the conclusion of basketball.  Doss for the most part of the Summer was out on an ACL injury and was released to play at the conclusion of the Summer.  In the Fall Exposure event in Murfreesboro Doss showed coaches she was back and in good health.  Doss gave 110% effort in the Fall showcase.  Doss, with her 5'9 frame is capable of a bunch great qualities on the court.  She has the fundamental package to be one of the most diverse players on her club team.  Dakota is also a key element of her high school team.  during her 4 years of high school she had her share of trips to the state tournaments.

Where did the top 8th Graders of 2011 end up on the first day of school.

Monday the Middle School Class of 2011 G7 Hoopz Top 25 entered a new high school for the first time.  Now the Student Athlete concept becomes reality.  The GPA starts calculating, ACT Prep sessions will come in handy, the workouts get tougher, the mental aspect is about to blindside them like Hiroshima.  The Game is about to take a turn for the average middle school player entering high school.  If you played in the post in middle school, the likeliness now is you are a guard and you have not been working on your guard skills, "Bad Choice".  If you took off for the Summer, "Bad choice."
With all of the Freshman talent entering into high school this year it is disappointing that the MIAA will not host a freshman season, due to this year's MCS Budget Cuts.  I expect to see a lot of freshman playing varsity basketball this year.  White Station and Ridgeway look to reap the benefits from this years freshman class.  See the Top 25 below and leave comments in our comment section below, on your take on this years upcoming basketball season. November is just around the corner.

Memphis Bobcats Select Finish Up Summer at C2C Championships

The G7 Memphis Bobcats Select Squad made their final evaluation for the Summer an astonishing event.  Ebony Hayes a 6'3 rising junior took her game to another level.  The level that college coaches wanted to see her reach.  She made impressive play after another.  Showing the post presence that she was doubted to display.  In the Coast 2 Coast  Championships, Hayes would make believers out of the non-believers.  Teammate Erica Watkins a 6'1 post player would back her up as they would go in to overtime in 2 games against 2 of the top teams in the Country with FBC and The South Carolina 76ers.  The Select would lose the games by 2 and 4 in overtime.  In the meanwhile these young ladies would win respect from coaches and teams should prepare because these 2 young ladies will be back on the seam next year with a fully loaded arsenal with Coach Tony Wilson and the Lady Bobcats Platinum Squad.  Arkela Hall Jones 5'6 Guard a 2012 prospect showed that there is a place for small guards in the Division I ranks.  She shot lights out in the C2C Event.  Candice Davis will also be a promising 2013 prospect that you will see next year with Team Platinum.  Davis is an outstanding player that can get it done.  If you haven't seen her be sure to keep up with Craigmont High this year.  Remember Craigmont was the Big Sleeper in Memphis last year in girls basketball that took everyone by surprise.

G7 Profile of the Week - #24 Kierra "Kee Kee" Adams

6'1 Kierra Adams maybe an undersized post player, but the 6'3 and 6'4 players that she oppose this summer didn't think that she was undersized.  Adams displayed an aggressive post presence in the paint and her ability to body up with the bigger players and dominate the boards was phenomenal.  This outstanding play drew attention from the West Coast coaches and East Coast coaches as well as the Mid-West.  Adams was a big asset to the Bobcats Platinum team as she returned after the Spring evaluation period from a broken ankle. She was release a few weeks later as she worked her way back to the beast mode that she is known from with the Bobcats in 2010 and with her West Memphis High School.
Adams, a 2012 prospect will definitely be a Mid-Major selection for the NCAA finest institutions.    The Memphis Lady Bobcats salute Kierra Adams as a Scholar Athlete of the G7 Program.Profile of the Week.

Lady Bobcats Bounce Back in Run for the Roses

 Getting it Together...
After a rough start in the Big State Flava Jam, but a good showing because most games were close and some got out of hand because of having to foul in the last few minutes of play.  The Bobcats would leave in the wee hours of the morning to to make a 13 hour drive from Arlington, Texas to Lexington, KY for the Run for the Roses Tournament for a 9:45 Saturday morning game.  College coaches felt that the Memphis group had a rough start so they followed them to Lexington and proved their theory right.  The Platinum team went on to win their pool and was eliminated from finals in the top division bracket in the elite 8.  Kiera "Kee Kee" Adams was outstanding in her performance.

Courtney Epting Make Waves dispite early departure form the ig State.

Courtney Epting and her coach departed Arlington, TX Friday Morning at 4:00am to make it back to Jackson, MS for the Mississippi North - South All-Star Game check in.  One thing for certain Epting put something on a lot of coaches minds, that she is one great ball player with her ability to create off the dribble, court vision and O' My God the ability to shoot the 3 ball. In one game vs. the Houston Insiders Epting dropped four 3's in the first half alone. She had awesome games through out the tournament. And the Mississppi Bobcats would go ahead and finish second in their pool and would make it to the quarter-finals in their division.  The Mississippi Bobcats 9th / 10th grade group would b advance in finishing second in the 15U Division. Great showing for the 601 group.

Meanwhile there were 2 other standouts who were impact players that also participated in the Mississippi All-Star game.  Jim Hill's Derita Luckett to the 3 point Challenge Championship in the Mississippi All-Star Weekend and Tydeshia Pool had outstanding performances in Dallas and in Jackson.

The Memphis Bobcats White is a team full of young talented freshmen.  The Bobcats 2014 team has gotten it together and went to the Big State Flava Jam  in Arlington, Texas and represented the Mid-South in good fashion.  College coaches were more than stunned with the play of Aysha Harris, Tavia Rodgers and Alise Parker.  These 3 young ladies put in great work at this event and earned invitations to the EA Sports National Elite Camp, to be held in Lithonia Georgia just 30 minutes away from Augusta.  The Nike Nationals is played in  Augusta and college coaches will be detouring thru Lithonia to see big talent.

It's never too late to become a Bobcat

The Bobcats organization welcomes the newest addition to the G7 Family.  Henrietta "Penny" Wells, a 6'2 forward of Memphis Catholic High School has joined the G7 Exposure Team and is now a member of the Lady Bobcats Platinum.  Wells is just an example of how the Bobcats club will grow in 2012.  She will be a big piece of the puzzle for the Bobcats Platinum next season.  Bobcats 2013 will feature a big look in players like Ebony Hayes 6'4, Henrietta Wells 6'2, Raquel Logan 6'2, Erica Watkins 6'1 then accent these ladies with crafty guards like Shunice Herron, Erin Wilson and Tarocka Brown.  There are more players in the area that are seeking opportunities to be a part of the G7 Movement in girls exposure basketball.

Henrietta Wells is just one of the Bobcats new specimens, that will become one of Memphis' top prospects in the 2013 Class.  She has just a great ball of raw talent that has not blossomed into its peak.  With coaches like Tony Wilson and the G7 Staff, her destiny is right around the corner.

A Game - is Bringing her A-Game...

Most website fans remember Adrienne Pratcher from the herhoops.com 2 Minute Drill Video segment that was a weekly feature on the website, now which is G7hoopz.com. She was the East High School player coaches was calling Director Rod Echols, who knows how to market his players. "Who is this kid that has mad game and passes on the site Rod?" coaches would ask.  Pratcher started Playing with The Memphis Lady Bobcats in the 9th Grade under Coach Mary James on the Bobcats Silver Team. Adrienne had the A-Game to the "T".  She was a wiz kid in the classroom aswell.  she would graduate at the top of her class. Her sophomore year she and Silver Team, teammate Jessica Brown moved up to the Gold Team which was the Bobcats Top Team on the National Circuit.  At that time Freshman Phenom Guard Jasmine " Tootie Robinson had took the circuit by surprise as an 8th Grader.  Robinson and Pratcher was a 1-2 punch at the Guard Position for the Bobcats at that time coached by Fred Echols.  Program Director Rod Echols came up with a brilliant idea that this team would be better than Gold and changed the name to the Memphis Lady Bobcats Platinum.  It was a cinch, because then Rod Echols' theme was now he had to make sure his teams be in the right events no matter who the coaches were and he had to promote his kids in the right way and make sure that they got in feature games to showcase his kids talent and he still remain to do that today.  Now the Bobcats has blossomed from 2 teams to a 6 high school teams and 1 middle school "super team".  The A-Game has moved on with her great ability to showcase herself and signed with the Texas A&M Aggies and now is a National Champion.  Adrienne has a bright future ahead of her and is a roll model student athlete at the university and she has set a milestone goal for herself and the Bobcats program as the first player of the program to play on a National Championship Team.  Program Director Rod Echols prays that she won't be the last.  The next goal is who will be the first Bobcat to sign in the WNBA. Stay logged on to G7hoopz.com and we shall see.
